A curious traveler and international literature, art, and design aficionado, Jen Westmoreland Bouchard holds a B.A. in French and a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Fine Arts from St. Olaf College (Northfield, Minnesota), a Diploma of French Studies from Université de Rennes II (Rennes, France), and a M.A. in French and Francophone Studies from University of California-Los Angeles. She has had the pleasure of writing scholarly articles for The Journal of African Literature and Culture, The Journal of Pan African Studies, and Migrations and Identities (Liverpool University Press). Jen is the editor of the anthology (In)Scribing Gender, published in 2015.
Her travel narratives have appeared in various print and online publications including Global Woman, Europe Up Close, The Savvy Explorer, Border Hopping, RE/VISIONIST, and Paper Saint. Jen’s interests include public education advocacy, establishing and fostering international partnerships, and collecting vintage adornments.
She lives in the Twin Cities with her beloveds, Lyla (daughter) and Michael (husband).
